Event: The 2nd Annual Fun Run / Walk & Knockout Tournament

  • honor the memory of Cayson on his birthday weekend!

  • have a fun time and raise funds for additional / future scholarships
  • raise awareness for mental health & suicide prevention

  • 8:05am OPENING CEREMONY (GMHS Gym)
  • 8:15am Run / Walk 5k Race Begins
  • 8:30am Drop In Activities: Enter Drawing for 32 Prize Baskets, Silent Auction, Quilting, Friendship Bracelets, Mental Health Resources, Merchandise, Refreshments, Food Truck, and maybe more!
  • 9:00am Check In and Warm Up for Knockout

Fun Run / Walk

FUN RUN / WALK:

7:30am CHECK-IN: Meet us in the Green Mountain High School parking lot.  Check-In will start at 7:30am.


8:15am RACE BEGINS: Heats begin at 8:15am with runners taking off first.  Runners and walkers will follow the same 3.1 mile loop through the Green Mountain Neighborhood. The entry cost is $25 per participant.

Knockout Tournament

YES, KNOCKOUT (the popular playground basketball shooting game!)!

You don't HAVE to make the first shot, but you need to hurry and score before the person behind you in line scores, or you will be KNOCKED OUT!!!

Knockout Information

KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT:

9:00am WARM UP & CHECK-IN:  Meet inside the Athletic entrance at Green Mountain High School to check-in and receive your punch card.


9:20am FIRST ROUNDS OF KNOCKOUT BEGIN:  Knockout rounds will start for each division every 10 minutes from 9:20am through 10:50am.  Purchase a $15 punch card, OR purchase a $25 punch card-PLUS gets your a T-shirt, prize entry drawing, and goodie bag, along with the 5 rounds of knockout).  There will be 10 total knockout rounds available, single rounds can be purchased on-site.

KNOCKOUT DIVISIONS AVAILABLE:

Up to 8 divisions will be available for Knockout (will combine divisions if needed):

  • COED 3rd grade and under
  • BOYS 4th & 5th grade
  • GIRLS 4th & 5th grade
  • BOYS 6th - 8th grade
  • GIRLS 6th - 8th grade
  • BOYS 9th - 12th grade
  • GIRLS 9th grade - Adult
  • OPEN / Top Flight

Knockout Championships

KNOCKOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS:

at or around 11:10am, the Winners of each of the possible 10 rounds of Knockout will go on to compete against the other round winners of their division to be the division's KNOCKOUT CHAMPION!


(Champions will be awarded prizes!)

We will have Gift Bags for everyone who registers to walk, run, or play knockout.

PROCEEDS:

Proceeds will go towards the Cayson Pearson Memorial Scholarship Fund to keep sharing the basketball dream with aspiring hoopers.  It is projected that we will award 9 scholarships for nearly $14,000 in 2025.

We won't be at the Broncos training facility running on the turf like Cayson is in this photo, but join us for a 3.1 mile Fun Run in the Green Mountain neighborhood!

Can you hit the BIG SHOT in the moment like Cayson did here in this Varsity playoff game?  Give Knockout a try (yes, Knockout: the popular playground basketball game!), if you miss the first shot, you just need to score from anywhere before the person behind you in line scores, or you will be KNOCKED OUT!!!

Walking may be more your style.  Like Cayson and his brothers shown here in Amsterdam, you can walk the 3.1 miles!
